Preview - The Intentional Off-Road Challenge....4-Off's A Must

From M Auriemma on Jan 26th: "Lots of you have been asking me about putting together a 'Serious' 4-wheeling weekend. Ask and you shall recieve!"

Excellent, I have a new Land Rover..

Next line: "Defenders only....lesser vehicles need not apply!"

OK, that hurts.....but it's coming from a man who spun in turn 1 at Daytona infield on his outlap in a treaded tired school car in front of a gaggle of 3day customers. So I called M Auriemma to inquire and was treated with the same respect as he was shown when he pitted for his 4-off- the mechanics asking me if he was stereotypic of our eastern series competitors up north.

Now, a sanctioned event that everyone on the Team Juicy hot list has vast experience in, driving off road, is coming to fruition. Imagine not only going off, but staying off. No safety check. No dispertions from colleagues. And no tar-and-feathering when you back-up on the track to re-enter. No Todd Snyder saying "that wasn't s--t, you should have seen me at Moroso".

That's right- serious off-roading with no in-car record, tire walls or foreseeable CDR's to sign. Yes Dick Lippert, it's pretty much heaven.

Some may shy away from the concept of driving off road but remember, this is intentional. Its an art. You meant to do it. And its not like taking out your frustration on a 5 year and his father and then bragging about it. This is real man & machine against the obstacles of nature.

The 1st Annual Intentional Off-Road Challenge will be the beginning of something new and life changing- the opportunity for any Team Juicy member or driver (assuming you make Michael's cut and fit the criterion) to do the unthinkable- compete with your peers on surfaces that you are well acquainted with and at the same time earn the respect that you've deserved all along for doing so. Without penalty.

In the words of SBRS LLC senior VP of Racing Davina Galica: "'F' Michael Auriemma". I'm going. I won't bring the Freelander and currently negotiations are underway with racing legend, podium sitter (editor's correction: MULTIPLE RACE WINNER) and close personal friend Sy Aryeh to co-drive his Hummer crushing Ford Bronco.

Hope any and all can make it. There will be corporate events key fobs for all drivers. Free.

Up next:

The Auriemma-Lite Lapping Clinic at Watkins Glen presented by podium god William Hammer.

(Editors note: Mr. Irvine misspelled the name of his own employer. Makes you wonder why the 'F' they keep him on board...)
