Motorsport = Teamsport II

Further to recent discussions I would like to ask the race-educated audience of the forum to please watch the linked the video and vote in the poll. The scene plays in Alabama, apporaching the high speed right hand turn number 7. The video is slowed to frame-by-frame in the decisive moments.

The two racers are to remain anonymous (that's why the link name is an abstract one) so that your vote won't be biased by "sympathies" (or the lack thereof).

Martin, great job on the video! It's awesome. But don't you think that you loaded the poll questions slightly?

Re: Motorsport = Teamsport II

Accident?

More like a racing "incident." The definition of which is, "a seemingly minor occurence that can lead to serious consequences," which in this case was the pass. It also means "falling or striking on something," both of which the guy on the left manages to do (he's falling off the track AND striking someone else). Now that's talent!. And finally incident means "likely to happen," which definitely applies to both of you. Because if you two numbskulls are ever in the same place-at the same time-something no good is extremely likely to happen.

Re: Motorsport = Teamsport II

It's now been almost three weeks since Birkmama posted this one-sided, self-favored and preloaded poll, and it looks like you people obviously can't tell the difference between being a numbskull and a genius. My move, to your evidently untrained and vision-less eyes, may have seemed slightly overambitious, absolutely ridiculous and inevitably hopeless. But you all failed to see that it was a masterful stroke of brilliance that failed because of a slight miscalculation. I intentionally made that move to 'fake out' Birkmama, to make him laugh so hard at what was to seem like an idiotic move, so that he himself would run straight off and I would take an easy position. But I failed at that moment to take into account his Teutonically challenged sense of humor, which has been markedly improved as of late, but evidently not quite up to snuff. Therefore, we had an unfortunate little love tap.

So I think we should update the poll and add another choice:

"The guy in the lower left was a Genius, but the guy in the upper right needs to watch more Seinfeld."

Re: Motorsport = Teamsport II

Bobo, Sorry for the late reply. I was unaware of you insult.

You are a great race car driver - in Sid's words a happy race car driver - and my admiration is yours. But...let me explain to you the technology in Sy's ingenious PIP (picture in picture) video.
The audio is the overlay of 4 tracks of both incar installations. So what you are hearing is the engine of the "offender" revving up happily while he is running away after hitting, while the attackee immediately locks up his squeeling wheels in order to prevent further damage.

Locking up wheels in a spin is good. Not locking them up, however is more entertainin as can be witnessed in the happy spin fest videos from Rodney Dangerfield's memorial.

C'mon, Birkmama, let me keep ONE guy on my side! Yes, calling us both idiots (as opposed to just me) I consider a victory, and is plenty good enough for me!

Re: Motorsport = Teamsport II

Either way it is an interesting video. Unbelievable that Sy can crank the wheel from almost all the way to the left to full opposite lock in about 4 frames! That's some quick hands.

And Martin has a great sense of humor, in the Chevy Chase kind of way. When I first met him I asked how many people worked at BMWNA, and the quick response was "About 10%".

Hope to see you guys at LRP this summer.
