Tear off preference

Hello everyone, I am hoping to take the three day formula school this fall at Road Atlanta. I have bought a shiny new reflective visor for my helmet, and the maker offers two thicknesses of tear offs (.002 and .005) for it. Does anyone know which is more applicable for what I am using them for? I figured the thicker ones would be better since I wouldn't be ripping them off every few minutes like F1 (I wouldn't think so anyway), and may spare some damage from grains of sand or vey small pebbles. Any suggestions?

Not sure what kind of helmet and tear offs you have. I initially tried a generic thin type for my Arai GP5 but they seemed (to me) a bit abrasive actually. I went with the thicker Arai brand and have had no problems since. I vote for the thicker ones.

Thicker ones can actually be reused with a little cleaning with glass cleaner or damp cloth.

Re: Tear off preference

Thanks for the replies, I guess I'll order the thicker ones. I have a Pyrotect Pro Airflow. They come in packs of 50, so I won't have to worry about re-using them with as little as I am on track.
