ok, they're rednecks.
You're right. Now they're just a bunch of rednecks. Here's how you know you are one:
You Might be Redneck if.....
You think the last four words of the National Anthem are
"Gentleman start your engines!"
You Might be Redneck if.....
You think heaven,
looks a lot like Daytona Beach, Florida....
You Might be Redneck if.....
You've ever written Richard Petty's
name on a presidential b***ot....
You Might be Redneck if.....
You have the word NASCAR in your wedding vows....
You Might be Redneck if.....
You spell out NASCAR in Christmas lights....
You Might be Redneck if.....
The word "Bank"
makes you think of turn three at Daytona....
You Might be Redneck if.....
Your wife's cutesy nickname is "Lugnut"....
You Might be Redneck if.....
You've spent more time on the top of a Winnebago
(RV)than in one....
You Might be Redneck if.....
You can remember every NASCAR driver and their car number
but can't remember how old your children are
You Might be Redneck if.....
You think the most effective form of advertising
is on the side of a car going 200 mph.....
round and round and round....

Hicks?
Think about it. The hicks got kicked out of NASCAR ten years ago. Jr., Sadler, and W***ce are the only ones that even come cole to being hicks anymore.

Redneck
You are refering to the ever shrinking percentage of the fans that are rednecks. The particiapants are far from it.

Re: Redneck
Maybe the drivers are becoming less hicky, but NASCAR racing is still a joke. It's basic***y the WWF on wheels.
They should start scripting race outcomes and write in pre-race fist-fights, mid-race fights and post-race fights. Oh sorry, I forgot - they already have.
Maybe they should put some tag-team rules in there next...

David Hobbs said it best, "...what they do ain't driving, it's just drafting"

Really?
Strong words from guys who have never been 170 mph at the apex of turn 1/2 at Fontana (which isn't flat by the way) with a concrete w*** 6 car widths above you. Spinning there isn't the same as spinning in the left hander.

Re: Really?
Ok, I just got back from doing the 24 hour course at Daytona and I must say that I'm now 10 times more sure that NASCAR is for hicks, and hicks only. Every five minutes one of those stupid 'Disney Tour' buses come through the area, and 100 fat middle American rednecks wearing tank tops, ripped acid washed jeans and sandles gawk and drool, twanging away.
Eat's like the old saying - 'you are what you eat' - the sport is indicative of its fans. Nascar is a redneck sport.

If I was fortunate to drive 170 mph at Fontana...
...it would be a certain 996 C4S, or even one of Martin's corporate courtesy cars, not a glorified family sedan with bad brakes and a laundry detergent decal on the hood.
