Thanks Bill, and So Long
Bill Henderson has been let go from his job at the SBRS. "No reason given" per Bill.
Thanks for all the hard work and safe cars Bill, especially given the circumstances.
All the best for what your future holds....

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
Another sad day in Skippy Land. Bill is the greatest at holding people accountable for what they do and for running a tight operation with no money...what a shame.

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
Loss of a good man who worked with passion and commitment, who always had a friendly word and ready smile, and yet never hesitated to tell me to move my car when I parked illegally. A sad day indeed.

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
No one cared more, worked harder or knew how to motivate and get things done in logistical Skippy world better than Papa Bear Big Bill.
He was the guy that made the Skippy paddock presentation look organized and professional.
Sad day indeed.
Here's to Bill Henderson...

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
Wow, what a loss for SBRS. I was always impressed by how Bill was on top of everything and was adamant about making sure he took care of his crew. If I ever needed anything, Bill made sure I got it. It didn't matter if it was cones, a whiteboard or a sandwich. He's a really interesting guy with a fascinating background. I hope I'll see him down the road sometime.

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
Bill took me under his wing at the track. He made sure the mechanics were respectful to me, and teasingly yelled at me if he thought my shorts were too short. He called me his "track daughter". He was one of the people that I looked forward to seeing most at the race weekends. I dont understand why he is gone. To any higher ups who read this, please provide an explanation.

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
My head is (once again) shaking back and forth in sadness and bewilderment. I agree with everything written in the earlier posts in this thread. Maybe the pattern is (a) find the single person most responsible for making things go well in the particular area under scrutiny that day and (b) get rid of them.

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
The track certainly won't be the same without Bill. No one went above and beyond more than he did. He also always looked out for us girls and watched out for us like we were his own. Not to mention, he gave GREAT dating advice--haha. Skippy has lost another great one. However, with Bill's resume, I know he'll have no trouble picking up again somewhere else. He's turned down offers before to stick it out.
I can only hope that his work load now is not pushed on to everyone else, as is the trend.

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
Bill is a great guy at making it happen! I remember when he started years ago w/ the Pro Series. You always knew where he stood on issues. Best of luck my friend!!!

Re: Thanks Bill, and So Long
Only met Bill once at my one and only race weekend last year. I liked the part where he shook every single racer's hand prior to rolling out. I thought that was really cool. Hopefully he'll get a chance to see the responses on this forum.

Another sad day in Skip Barber history. Bll is one of those you can always count on. Always did the right thing and made safe and well attended to as customers...
