Post TJR 2006 Fantasy Formula 1 Competition - How to Play

It's again time to play the TJR Fantasy F1 Competition. Entry is FREE and all Members are invited to play. And all you have to do is post your picks each week in a special F1 Picks thread. That's it. You can join anytime you want. Of course the later you start, the fewer points you stand to gain. And after every weekend, we'll post the results and performance charts on Team Juicy. Fun fun fun.

Plus, we've tweaked the game to make it a bit easier to play, and also to keep the competition tighter through the season.

Want to see how the game is played? Click here to see one of last year's weekends.

How to Enter

Just put your picks in on the first race you can, by replying to that race's thread. That's it. Oh yeah, if you want to be called by a special Team Name, let us know that, too.

Here's the thread for the first weekend's race. Click here and reply to the thread to play.

How to Play

Each race weekend I'll start a new thread, and I'll email the notice to you. You put your picks in by replying to the thread before the deadline, which is always just before the first qualifying session of the weekend. Trash talk in your replies is not only allowed, its encouraged. So let’s have some.

Every weekend, you pick Two Tier 'A' drivers, Two Tier 'B' drivers and One 'Team' each weekend. You can only pick each driver and each team SIX (6) times. You can pick any driver that is competing that weekend. You will have to keep tab of your picks by using the online spreadsheet that I will post each weekend. There will be no ‘safety check’ to prevent you from posting invalid picks.

Here's an example of an entry:

Points

The scoring system is the same as the FIA Formula 1 style system. You get the same number of FIA points that your drivers and your team get:

1st Place - 10 Points
2nd Place - 8 Points
3rd Place - 6 Points
4th Place - 5 Points
5th Place - 4 Points
6th Place - 3 Points
7th Place - 2 Points
8th Place - 1 Point

More Rules

If you miss the deadline, your selections for the previous weekend will be automatically entered for the current weekend. If your previous selection contained a driver or constructor that was used the maximum amount of times (6), then you will receive no points for that particular driver or constructor. Choosing a substitute driver will use up the replaced driver’s allocations, unlike last year.

I'll do the spreadsheet after this weekend. Until then, use the list of potential picks from above.

Hi Sy,

Are we allowed to change our picks after having posted them?

Yes, absolutely. You can either edit your picks (if you're within the time limit that allows editing of general posts - which I believe is currently around 3 hours) or just make another reply with your new picks. The obvious catch is that your edits or your new picks must be in before the deadline, which is usually just before qualifying.
