New Skip Barber High Performance School (Discussion Thread)
Hey have you all seen the new High Performance Driving School at Skip Barber!?
I just signed up for the January 15th and 16th Two Day school at Laguna (I have to be in California that week anyway). Anybody else thinking about going give me a shout. As I have been a very good boy and have yet to get a ticket in my own Teutonic Two seater I'm giving myself a nice Christams present. Icannot wait to see what the car is like on the track - and at Laguna much less.

Can't you do pretty much all that stuff on the way to work? You can pay a lot of tickets for $2,700.

Re: New Skip Barber High Performance School
And what's really nice is you don't have to abuse your own machinery. Skippy will have a stable of Boxter's, 911's, 330i's and M3's to play with and will put you behind the wheel of all of them during the course.
(You are responsible for damage and there is optional extra-cost insurance available but hey... )
Still a great chance & cost point to explore the ultimate performance of some great cars without risking life, limb, drivers license & arrest! :-)
Wish we could join you Donald. Do bring your camera and work up a post to make us jealous.

Not so much the tickets as the bail and lost work time that really add up...

Re: New Skip Barber High Performance School
Thanks for the laugh Dick.
As you can guess, the real reason for my wanting to spend the $2,700 is to pay someone who, being unable to exit the car at 120 miles per hour has to sit and listen to me make excuses and complain incessantly as to why I am not going faster - other than my own lack of skill, intelligence and willpower (read: attachments).

You could accomplish the same thing and get paid too by driving the van that takes the people from the nursing home to the mall.

Excuse me, but I ACTUALLY PAID something very close to that number just to sit in your car and listen to your excuses and complaints.. And not at 120, but at 150 mph!
Best money I ever spent. That was a GREAT time!
And PS - trust me, you have HUGE ATTACHMENTS. You and your two friends scared the crap out of me.

Not if those tickets are for going 120mph on I-95 in Connecticut (within spitting distance of the R.I. border). Of course, only an idiot would get caught doing something like that.
Anyone know a good lawyer?

As I remember Sy the only complaining I did was about YOUR driving and that you were scaring the crap out of me by how closely you followed Martin around the hills of the Nurburgring.
Watching the two of you follow one another around was like being at the casting call for the movie BrokeBack Mountain.

Re: New Skip Barber High Performance School
Sid,
Crow bar my ass! (Oh wait Sid can I retrack that last statement?)
Let me tell you the "jaws of life" wouldn't have been able to remove Sy from Martin's "rear end" if we hit them.
We would have to find a flippin' Oral Surgeon for that job!

Re: New Skip Barber High Performance School
I thought the place in the village where they used to separate the men from the boys was called "The Anvil" Sid? Oh well, "Crow Bar", "The Anvil" it's all Greek to me...

Re: New Skip Barber High Performance School
No Pat you are mistaken. A crow bar and an anvil are "tools."
...but then again considering the subject maybe they are Greek.

Re: New Skip Barber High Performance School
Boy we really do need Doug to put some meat on these bones.
Hhmm... Guess we've hijacked this thread far enough off course eh?
O well, in the end... it's all Sy's fault...
Congrats on 400 posts Donald...

For the record this did start as a racing thread. And a plug for our friends at Skip Barber.

Re: New Skip Barber High Performance School
You guys obviously don't know my type. Martin's ass is WAY too big for me. Besides, Rufus has dibs on him.
And would you guys have thought any of this pervertedly ridiculous stuff up without Martin's 'outing' on the 'Ring video?
Anyway, keep it up and maybe we'll turn the site into something like one of these (no, they're not from my bookmarks, I just googled them!):
http://www.gaysports.com/page.cfm?se...d=60&parent=14
or

Re: New Skip Barber High Performance School
Sy,
Having had a chance to sleep on this I am embarassed about my continually immmature, politically incorrect, and personally insensitive behavior on this site.
Please accept my resignation. I don't want to belong to any site that will accept me as a contributor.
P.S. Thank you Mr. Marx

I think that's the fifth time you've 'resigned'. If you keep this up, pretty soon we won't believe that you'll really do it anymore. :-P
