Lightbulb New Speed Secrets Book (#6 - The Perfect Driver)

Ross Bentley's newest book is about to be released. Here's the book's description:

With racing, as with almost any pursuit, being the best entails having a clear idea of what the best ishaving a mental model that instructs and motivates and inspires. Drawing on his extensive experience as a competitive driver and coach, author Ross Bentley helps the aspiring professional and the ambitious amateur develop the mental model that is essential for successful racing. His book reviews the techniques needed to drive fast, win races, and build a career as a professional race driverand then, more importantly, schools readers in the process of turning this clear mental picture into racing perfection.

Some people believe achieving perfection is impossible. But racers know you can always do better. First you strive for a perfect lap, then a series of perfect laps, then a perfect race, and finally, a perfect season. Of course, the only way to begin to approach perfection is to have a model of what perfection is.

Speed Secrets 6: The Perfect Driver helps you develop mental models to improve your racing and then explains how to use them. Are you losing time because you’re on the brakes too long going into a particular corner? Author Ross Bentley shows you how to use mental imagery to experience to the feeling of hitting the perfect end-of-braking point, as well as how to develop a mental trigger that will stimulate your subconscious into executing that point on the track.

Mental imagery helps you off the track, too. So, whether it’s carrying out a debriefing session with your crew chief, handling a meet-and-greet with potential sponsors, or turning a fast lap, Speed Secrets 6 will help you become the perfect driver.

Re: New Speed Secrets Book (#6 - The Perfect Driver)

I'd be interesting to hear from anyone who gets this book (I guess it's out in mid-January) whether the author is covering any new ground, or whether he is just endlessly rehashing material from Speed Secrets #1-5. I've read a couple of the earlier books, and thought he was definitely prone to presenting the same material in slightly different form.
