GIRLS AND CHAMPAGNE BANNED

Motor racing tradition must take a back seat at this weekend’s Bahrain GP.
They have been synonymous with grand prix racing since the early days, but at this weekend’s Bahrain GP pitbabes and champagne will be out.
Culture in the Gulf kingdom does not permit the drinking of alcohol and scantily-clad girls would seriously offend many Bahrainis.
Organisers of the grand prix have assured the Kingdom’s politicians that such behaviour will not feature during the race weekend.
Adel al-Moawada, the deputy speaker of parliament, told the Telegraph newspaper: “Shaking the champagne and spreading it on people, this is something that I don’t think the people here will accept.
“The organisers know how to run this event without contradicting the culture of the place they are in.”
Instead drivers will be given non-alcoholic drinks to spray each other.
