Re: sponsor decals?

As of April, 2003, this was the 'Official' sponsor sticker placement guide. It's possible that it's been revised, and I'm sure our resident Skippy CSR Jimal Temus will check that out, but I doubt it's changed.

Also, when I say 'Official', I mean that this is usually loosely controlled. The important things you have to keep in mind are that you don't sticker over an existing sponsor's sticker, and that you clear your application of the stickers with the crew chief.

Re: sponsor decals?

This map is still good, though look at how much has changed since 2001. WorldCom, CART...

There are a couple other things to keep in mind with sponsor decals:

1. We'd prefer that your sponsors don't conflict with SBRS sponsors (i.e, we are sponsored by Quaker State, so a Lucas Oil decal might not go over well)

2. You're responsible for putting the decals on AND taking them off. If you're having decals made up, make sure they use a material that is sticky enough to stay on in the wind but comes off easily when the time comes.

Beyond that, you can pretty much do what you want. Last year or the year before we had a guy run decals that read his company's name, "Big Ass Fan Company"

Subject to change without notice. Your mileage may very. etc. etc.

sticker dimensions

Hey folks, does anyone have measurements for what size stickers can fit 1) on the side of the side pods and 2) on the engine cover (like yours Gerardo

Thanks,

Robert

Yes, the updated sponsor decal sheet is attached. Also, this thread has been merged with the previous related thread.

Re: sponsor decals?

Robert,

8x12 for the sidepod is a safe bet. The decal I use on the engine cover is 3 inch high lettering, and 30 inches wide. I fit it on the curvature of the engine cover area.

Here now, for your enjoyment (laughing is allowed) is a copy of a handwritten decal map I made while pouring over a car at the Sebring shop a few years ago. You might not be able to read all the handwritten text, but feel free to ask questions.

Re: Sponsor Decals - Locations & Sizes

Here are the rules for signage used for the national series. On the weekends when both regional and national series are running together I would guess the national driver would get to have sponsorship signage preference.

Sponsorship Signage
Appearance of SBN sponsor decals on every car is required. This includes all primary and supporting sponsors and partners. Additionally, the appearance of SBN sponsor patches on driver suits is mandatory. Sponsorship signage is vital to both the driver and to the SBN. We recognize the significance of a driver’s personal sponsors and we will provide you (as an entrant) the majority of the driver cockpit section, and limited space on the nose, front wings and rear wings. All Skip Barber signage/decals must remain on the car in a uniform and specified pattern. Also, we maintain the right of final approval with respect to a driver’s sponsor(s) in conflict with the SBN sponsors. When in doubt, ask the SBN Officials for clarification on this subject.
This policy is also in effect on sponsors of driver’s personal equipment (e.g. helmet, suit, etc.). Signage (patches) conflicting with the SBN sponsors, as determined by SBN Officials may not be displayed.
SBN sponsor patches are available in the SBN confirmation package or at the event registration.

I'm sure a call to your sales rep would get a quick clarification.

Re: Sponsor Decals - Locations & Sizes

We're actually working on final approval and sending the new decal maps (with the newer partners such as TAG Heuer) out to all of our locations. Once that's done, I'll be able to post it here. Stay tuned!

Re: Sponsor Decals - Locations & Sizes

Here are the decal maps for the MX5 Cup car and the Formula Skip Barber 2000. As before, racers are more than welcome to put on their own decals provided none of our decals are removed or covered up.

Attached is also the National driver suit patch map. These are required for the National series but not the Summer, Western or Southern, but if regional drivers would like to use the recommended design, you are more than welcome to.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Okay, I can't resist any longer. Is it mandatory for a suit to be in full compliance with the strictures that the name "Peter Dannan" be emblazoned on the belt?

For full compliance the "Peter Dannan" monicker needs to be lower and either on the front or the back of the uniform.

hahahah but of course!! (Dripping with sarcasm for anyone who didn't catch that). Credit goes to Jimal for that one, I believe. I think he was the one to put that in on the design. I couldn't bear to remove it. haha

Old thread to to the top! Do we have any templates for sponsor decal sizes and locations for 2013-2014? Also templates for driver suit patch requirements for the series in 2013-2014?

The PDF page showing suit patches attached to Kelly's post #12 still apply.

Nice! At the end of my Advanced 2 Day, they gave us the BF Goodrich, the Mazda, and the Skippy patch for the front of our firesuits. I'm assuming that the Tag Heuer patch is not required anymore? Just by looking at the formula car PDF and reading this old thread, I'm also guessing we can stick sponsor decals anywhere that doesn't cover up an existing series sponsor, car number, or skippy logo. I'm off to beg for money now! HaHa!

Re: Sponsor Decals - Locations & Sizes

The sponsor decals were more applicable when there was a separate National Series but I doubt they'd object to sponsor decals. The only issue would be we now draw different cars for qualifying and both races so you'll need lots of decals. :-)
Haven't seen any new Tag Heuer stuff around so that sponsorship is probably no longer.
