A new name & new guidelines needed for 'Advanced Member Content'
Guys, I always hated the designations 'Advanced Member' and 'Advanced Member Content'. Basically, these were setup to classify members that have 10 or more posts and that have been registered for 30+ days, with the idea to reward these loyal members with access to better stuff (videos, articles etc).
Firstly, I always hated the name I came up with ('advanced member'), so please help me pick something better.
Secondly, what kind of guidelines should we use to have them fall into that classification? We want to encourage members to not only reach a certain number of posts, but also to remain active, so maybe we should change the existing mechanism. Any ideas? I can pretty much program in any variables you can think of (within reason).
Thanks
S

Re: A new name & new guidelines needed for 'Advanced Member Content'
Could play around with Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum memberships
Bronze = 30 days of membership
Silver = 30 days + 10 posts
Gold = 30 days + 10 posts per month (regular posters)
Platinum = 30 days + 10 posts per month + Photo Gallery and/or Video Gallery contributions.
How 'bout some ideas on what the rewards should be...

Dalyduo ^^^ has a good idea. The bronze, silver etc idea is simple and everyone can really understand it.
you can also categorize each member by how active they are by calling them depending on posts count; rookie less than 100, more than 100-500, amature, 500-1000+ pro driver etc... just an idea

Andor,
LimeRockRacer was having a little fun with his reply. Skip Barber used to have skill categories a few years ago to place drivers among drivers of similar experience and speed. The idea was to create better racing. In some ways it worked, and in other ways it did not work. After a year of three categories, Skip Barber switched to two categories, Championship and Sportsman, which lasted a few years. Eventually, the system went back to all one group.
When I read his reply, I fell off my chair in laughter. I wanted you to know why I, and likely others, thought his reply was so great.
Pat,
I like your idea!
But maybe Chris and Andor are on to something as well? Still, the metals are easy for anyone to understand, especially if you have a frequent flier account.

Yeah... I think the statute of limitations has run out on those bad boys. Aren't many left who'd even get the reference.... But I love it.

Gerardo... Yeah, We just need to fine tune what each level will mean.

Oh boy, X 100! I remember those days.
I only need one level, sort of an on/off switch, so that if a member's achievements are sufficient or if their activity is high enough, they can have access to certain things. I like the idea of the Gold Member (heh heh heh!). What say you all?
