  • 24 Hours of Le Mans, France July 4-8, still have one team and individual spots avaliable out of four teams going.
Endurance Karting to Compete in Three European Endurance Events

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (March 19, 2007)
— While many embark on leisurely European summer tours, Endurance Karting is planning its own summer European tour – at about 70 mph. After hosting a successful 24 Hours of America in January, Endurance Karting will compete in the 24-hour events at Leira, Portugal; Evora, Portugal; and Le Mans, France.

The first stop on Endurance Karting’s European tour is the Kartodromo de Evora in Portugal, where Endurance Karting will represent the United States in the 24 Hours of Evora May 25-27. The leader in endurance hire-kart racing is seeking its fourth podium finish in its fifth attempt at this event. Competitors in this race will drive Italian-made karts powered by 15 horsepower engines. Opportunities remain to join Endurance Karting in this festive race.
After conquering Evora, Endurance Karting will remain in Portugal for the 24 Hours of Leira May 30-June 3. It will be Endurance Karting’s first visit to the course, which is located 60 miles north of Lisbon. The karts for this race are the same full-bodied, 15 horsepower machines that are used in the prestigious Granja Viana 500 Mil endurance race in Brazil. One team has already been reserved for this event, but Endurance Karting is seeking interested drivers to form a second team. Drivers may compete in one or both Portuguese events. Either way, the experience is bound to be memorable.

Endurance Karting concludes its European tour July 4-8 by paying its second visit to the Alain Prost Circuit at Le Mans. The kart event will occur during the world-renowned Le Mans sports car race, making this racing weekend exciting for both participants and spectators. Forty teams from around the world are already entered in the 24 Heures du Mans. Endurance Karting will field four of those teams, but only one team remains open for entries. This is another amazing twice-around-the-clock experience, as drivers will receive the opportunity drive powerful twin-engine karts, to participate in a full-day practice with the British team, defend Endurance Karting’s 2006 podium finish and – best of all – race at Le Mans!

Once it returns stateside, Endurance Karting will continue preparations for its second annual 24 Hours of America Jan. 11-13, 2008, at Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm Beach, Fla. Up to 35 teams will participate, and all teams will use a brand-new Italian-made chassis powered by a 270 cc, 11 horsepower engine. These nimble machines will be dyno-tested and prepared equally to ensure fair and exciting competition.
To be deemed eligible to compete in any or all of these events, drivers must have prior racing experience. Experience may be obtained by participating in automobile racing events or in at least two scheduled Endurance Karting events throughout the year. While fast drivers are always welcome, consistent drivers are appreciated during endurance events of this type. Drivers should also be in good physical condition, as 24 hour races provide extreme mental and physical challenges. Drivers may contact Endurance Karting at 1-866-RACE-NOW (1-866-722-3669) or visit www.EnduranceKarting.com to obtain Endurance Karting’s 2007 schedule or to join a team.
