It's Hammer time! Bill takes his first win!
Congrats to Pork Chop Willy on his awesome victory today, which he took in fine style. Starting from fifth, he quickly made his way up to 2nd, passing a fast Jimmy Locke in the process, and then closed the gap to RJ Smith who was driving a killer race until his engine went off. Pork Chop drove the wheels off of #12, which was a dog of a car (that was my car, too - and I couldn't win with the thing, so it's the only possible explanation ). I'll post all of the great pictures we took of Bill's win and his podium celebration as soon as the camera we left up in the tower is found...
Also congratulations to David Gionfriddo for a great second place, and to David Casey for an awesome job in his debut Championship weekend. DC put in a SICK fast lap in Race #2. Way to go, guys!
And a big thumbs down to Peter Ludwig, Matt Franc and Ivo G., who again got in my way and denied me victory. Please stay home next time, guys.

Re: It's Hammer time! Bill takes his first win!
IT's HAMMERTIME!!! Don't stop now, Bill. October at Lime Rock is shaping up to be a very interesting season finale if this keeps up.
NOTE TO EXPERT GROUP: David Gionfriddo IS BACCCKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And to Mr. Casey all we can say is Holy $#*%! For those of us you left behind in EXPERT you left no doubt that we are truely and now quite literally "not in the same league." (P.S. Please don't come back).

Thank you, Peter. I was much closer at the July race weekend, but you guys ran way too fast for me this time. You really did an awesome job, especially in Race #1. Congrats to you, too, dude!

Nominations for the Eastern Series "Best _____"
For the best imitation of a Michael Schumacher vs. Juan Pablo Montoya passing duel in a race, without either one actually hitting the other - to Matt and Peter in Championship Group, Race 2 on the front straight of Lime Rock.

Congrats Bill - great job...
Judging from Sy and Peter's banter, it must have been a good weekend...sorry I missed it.

Front Straight Race 2
Race 2 was absolutely the most fun I have ever had in a race. Wheel to wheel Swapping P1 and P2 time and time again with M. Franc only mm's apart was fantastic. I believe we have a mutually higher respect for one another now running so close, remaining fair and perdictable at all times without screwing it up for both of us. As well I need to say, it is amazing how much more energy it takes when you are trying to defend a position vrs. trying to gain a position, BIG DIFFERENCE!!! Alot of defense was going on on the front straight, turn 1, 2, 3, and the chicane. At the end with hot tires, I had all I could do to keep it on the road.
Although I only finished second, The fun factor made up for not winning
WHo's going to MId-O??? I'll see you there

Re: Nice job to Sy too!!
I have to say that the racing this weekend on all fronts was truly amazing!
I agree with Peter - the Fight for the win in race 2 had some of the best racing we have seen - both Matt and Peter pulled some awesome bluffs in passing on the straight away and in turn 1. we were really waiting for a touching somewhere, but both managed to stay clear! Unbelievable.
Don't forget Dom's two wins! Fantastic!
Bill, you did awesome - what a clear win! I have some terrific shots of you on the finish line and after the race. If I hadn't left my camera in LR they would be posted already - hopefully later today or tomorrow.
Kick ass Dave! Sy was disappointed that he did not have your car in his races (#7) - I think that he only went through 4 cars this weekend - he tried to do better with Pork Chop's car (#12) after his win, but after the race, my beloved did not like that car either.
Nester made for some very interesting driving in the fast car #7, making it difficult for Sy to pass him on the straight away with car #12(to Sy's point on how good #7 is vs #12). But then Sy "dive bombed" poor Nester going into Turn 1 to get past him. (tsk, tsk.. naughty, naughty)
I think the Skippy guys are going to insist on Sy test driving all the cars before each race so we don't have to hear about how bad his car was every time he comes off the track. Sy, that might work against you, because if you do actually have a bad race, you won't be able to blame the car!
By the way, Matt F did insist on testing his #6 car against Peter's #4 after Peter won in the first race.... and sure enough (maybe) Peter's car was apparently faster.
And so it goes...

Actually my car was used as a benchmark, but................
Matt's car was the same but.......................
The race 2 car he was driving really was quicker based on feedback from Mr. Jason Holehouse (Or so he said to me)

Re: It's Hammer time! Bill takes his first win!
Excellent weekend all the way around. Great to see Bill, Jimmy, Dom, and the twins leading the Champ group doing well and atop the podium. A few of us used the chicane as a combinatioin speed bump/launch ramp but hey, it only shows up once a year and I like grass. (note to self: resist the urge and agree with Matt Franc. Vote to drop the chicane next year...)
As for Nestor. He is my own special project. Remedial blue flag sessions start next week, Bitch!

It wasn't the chicane. it was the large lumps in front of you missing first gear going into the chicane that was your problem.

I think you should get your money's worth - you helped me all weekend! Your little love tap with Matt got me third place in Race #1, and I passed Ivo (he repassed me later) when we caught you coming out of the chicane. Thanks!
