Sy, please revise your deadline. The race may be on March 18 in Australia, but the International Date Line makes it March 17 in the USA. The live broadcast on SPEED begins on Saturday, March 17, at 10:30 pm. The qualifying is the day before.
Re: 2007 Fantasy F1 - Round #1 - Australian GP @ Melbourne - HERE WE GO!!
I think we're going to get some serious cash raised here... Angelos just threw in an entry for Team AA Racing (way to go bro). plus all the usual prior suspects. I think we should have at least $1,500 by the time we start.
Also, for the dreaded record, Julia and I are in for two entries. Time for me to win this thing, I'm sick of being a bridesmaid every year!!
Thanks, Bill. Your site looks cool, and we used to use another automated site (Yahoo's) a few years back, but these take the most fun part of the game out, which is the witty free-form entry of picks every week, and the banter that develops around them. This game is much more of an excuse to socialize with (and make fun of) friends, as opposed to just the game itself.
Now that I said that, I can't wait to kick all your asses this year in the F1 Competition!!!!

Don't be shy - speak and provoke - and for goodness sake, always retaliate - chances are they deserve it, besides - we all love the opportunity to jump in on a good ol' bashing session
right, McD?

Re: 2007 Fantasy F1 - Round #1 - Australian GP @ Melbourne - HERE WE GO!!
Dear Most Distinguished TJR Fantantasy F1 Gamemaster,
Double picking is against the rules and a flagrant attempt at cheating. Like any good commissioner you need to deal with this forcefully to send a message to other players who might also be contemplating cheating.
I respectively request that you please credit Mr. "Out -to-Luncho" a big "0" for the week and dock him for the picks.

Did i hear something about some basketball games this week...i am always puzzled why the streets aren't filled when F1 and Sebring are on the same weekend. Since the KC Royals can't seem to beat the St Louis Cardinals, I guess it is up to me to beat Rancho Relaxo with a cross state war!

Sy ,
This year you and I, like the old West, are gonna have a "shoot out" in the street every week cause I ain't gonna let you wait until the last minute to post your picks.
Clearly, Juicy Jules has a mind of her own and has made her picks for the week. So I'm calling you out into the street for a duel dde.

Donald, I know what you're thinking. Did I fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?
Kimi
Fernando
Icki Nicky
"Feeling Good, Louis!" Hamilton
and for my team, I shall choose the marque of the Cavallino Rampante: Scuderia Ferrari.
Re: 2007 Fantasy F1 - Round #1 - Australian GP @ Melbourne - HERE WE GO!!
The thread is back open for discussion and trash talking but Zee picking of drivers and teams is kaput, finished, ended, done...
Have at it ladies...

All you had to do was look at the practice times to know who to pick. If he holds it together in the race we'll all be hoping Kovalainen gets fast around the time we've used up all our Hamilton picks.

Re: 2007 Fantasy F1 - Round #1 - Australian GP @ Melbourne - HERE WE GO!!
Yes, and you selected him too! So much more fun voting for the underdog and having him do well. Like winning a lottery.
On the other side of the coin, those of us who selected sure thing Massa are now sitting on pins and needles wondering how badly that will turn out.
Hopefully he turns out to be a winning or at least placing lottery ticket as well. :-) Should make for interesting racing seeing how far he can advance.
We're already having fun and the first race hasn't started yet.

Well. Jim, it looks like a lot of people drafted off of our early team pick of Ferrari , and NO ONE went with McLaren!? But you have the satisfaction that not everyone picked the prancing horse.
Re: 2007 Fantasy F1 - Round #1 - Australian GP @ Melbourne - HERE WE GO!!
Know you've got a full plate Sy... Any guestimate on when we might see some results?

Re: 2007 Fantasy F1 - Round #1 - Australian GP @ Melbourne - HERE WE GO!!
Ugh... I know... I'll have it done by Saturday at the latest. It's just that I haven't had a chance to reset and revise this year's spreadsheet yet, which takes quite a bit of time. Sorry guys. The remaining weekends will be quick.
Re: 2007 Fantasy F1 - Round #1 - Australian GP @ Melbourne - HERE WE GO!!
Sydude, u are one lazy sonobitch and thats why we love you.
No hurryz, no worriez. dont spend friday nite resetting je ne sai quoi, take

Re: 2007 Fantasy F1 - Round #1 - Australian GP @ Melbourne - HERE WE GO!!
Sydude takes the early season lead with 41 points and Juicy Jules, Jimmy Craige and DalyDuo are tied for second place with 36. Sydude and JJ 1st & 2nd? You just can't make this kind of stuff up. (I can gloat a bit, can't I?)
OldRedRacer did a great job with his first picks in his first season of TJR F1 competition, slotting in with 32 points, and the same with Team Rosso with 22.
Team Jimardi's manager Jimal Temus has picked his best starters ever, clicking in an impressive 31 (about time, Jimmy boy..) tying Team Grady.
Otherwise, the regulars all did a bang-up job of putting in some solid points, setting up what looks to be another tight exciting race to the finish. Next stop: Malaysia.
Here are the full results for this weekend's race:
