Tyrrell P34

Seeing StevieDe's avatar in another thread I was reminded of coming across this recently:

http://vimeo.com/12398061

Note the change in the car's graphics for the camera.

Re: Tyrrell P34

Wild and wonderful. Have never seen an overhead shot like that anywhere. Must have been an interesting rig. The open cockpit nicely reveals his foot and hand work as it also exposes the lack of driver safety crush zone in a pit of the stomach kind of way. Love the front four wheel understeer. An amazing era of F1 car development.

Re: Tyrrell P34

Look closely at Stevie's avatar, and the overhead shot in the video. Besides part of the body being removed for the overhead shots, notice anything else slightly different ?

Re: Tyrrell P34

How did they handle pit stops for changing the front tires? Two crews per side? Or maybe a team of three -- one to do the unbolting, one to pull off the tire, and one to put on the new tire?

Hmmm, the "elf" decal is spun to face the camera, looks like there's a camera or mounted to the front, and the video car doesn't seem to be in a constant state of yaw. Howzat?

It's funny though, after I posted that, I looked back at GT250's post and he specifically TOLD us to note the change in car's graphics. I did notice it, but it looks like I was actually the THIRD person who did.

It also looked like the roll hoop was removed for the video, but after careful inspection, you can see the structure is still there. Just looks different when not covered by body work.
