Re: Road Atlanta -- Who's Going???

Ahh wow, i literally was just about to make a thread with the SAME EACT title! Beat me to it! I will be attending this race weekend and doing a lapping, practice and Regional race weekend. I Will be arriving in Atlanta late tue. night as i have to attend some classes during the day and get out at 430pm than straight to the airport! I never checked the weather forecast and seam's like rain will be making its presence! Thank god i'm a big big fan of rain! hahaha lol. i did my end day of my 3 day all in the rain and learned a lot and learned i was very good and fast in the rain! I was about 3rd fastest of the group in the dry and when the rain came, i seamed to be much more comfortable pushing through the corner's than the other guys that were faster than me during the dry. Also, during my 2 day adv it rained in the morning which def. helped to cool me off as it was mid summer (around the same time as this year, end of july).

This is gonna be my 2nd race weekend and really looking foreword to finally be able to run on a track i've been on before! I did fairly moderate on my 1st race weekend on a unknown track so hopefully some better results but results comes from being relaxed and having as much fun as possible so def. stoked for this weekend!!!!

p.s.: Sorry for being away on the forums for a while. Ive been working a lot (to pay off this race-weekend, hotel, travel etc) and taking summer classes so have not had much time to post up! Def. have been taking a peak when ever had a chance!

Who else is coming to Road Atlanta!????!!!!

I know its (Regionals) combined with Nationals this weekend so it should def. be fun seeing them run! Also, gonna be my first time running the slick tires so def. gonna be fun! Now i can finally take turn 12 wot w/o catching the rear when the track is slick and being blacked flagged and than told to go play the lotto bec. they thought i was into the wall for sure! hahaha... looking foreword to seeing some of you guys again!

Hey Andor,
Great to see you back again. I'm waiting for the heat and rain to arrive at LRP in August. Won't be in Atlanta but I'm sure you'll have a great time there. Keep us posted and tell us what you learn.

Rain or not, plan on being sopping wet when you climb out of your car. 90 F temp + predicted 66% humidity = heat index of 103 F. If it gets to 92 then we're talking HI of 109. Welcome to summer in the South, y'all. This is MY kind of weather! Can't wait...

Hahaha the 2 times i've been at Road Atlanta have been mid to end july and always super hot! When it rained, we were happy bec. it cooled us off and we were just as wet rain or not! Being from south florida, def used to high temperatures and high high humidity so this is just like home!
