Exclamation New Points System Implemented

In Virginia, a new grouping and scoring system was implemented. The fastest drivers are grouped together into what is called the Championship Group, the experienced midfield drivers are placed into the Expert Group, and new drivers are put into the Sportsmen Group. The intention of the grouping was to provide closer racing by grouping drivers of like skill. A new points system has been introduced to equalize the difficulty levels of receiving points. Drivers are allowed to reposition themselves in whatever group they wish. Here is the current points system for your reference (which I'm sure will be updated):

Please provide your feedback on this.

Cool Re: New Points System Implemented

So, if I understand the new system, it goes something like this...those that have a 1st place finish race in their appropriate class, "Championship". Next, those that have finished with at least three podium finishes in either a red-over-black or solid white car, race in the "Expert" class. Then there is the class(less) that I will be racing in, "Sportsman", for those that have never actually finished a race; have no memory of ever finishing a race, or have multiple podium finishes, but no one actually noticed. Seems perfectly logical to me, and I for one am looking forward to sporting-around in the sportsman’s class.

Re: New Points System Implemented

The new system is unfair and incorrect. It allows Auriemma to be the Juicy point leader for three unbearably long weeks - who knows maybe even longer if he decides to try driving fast.
That alone shows the faultiness of the mathematical model.

Other than that it provides for great racing. Check out Deyne Bentt's onboard video: You can cover the entire field with a towel (which in turn provokes the question why can see the entire field from his onboard-cam - but this is an entirely different discussion). :p

But Hey! In his April 25 video, you can clearly see me take the lead at the start over Matt Franc and Sergio Perez! It didn't last very long, though....

This might be the way it appears...but if you stream the video in super-slow-mo you can actually catch a glimpse of that red flash blowing by in turn 7 - SEVEN!

Maybe so, but, speaking of SEVEN... Would that be the number of pieces of car number thirty-SEVEN that did not make it back to the pits???

Lightbulb Idea for videoracer.com

Hey Deyne. Great videos from VIR.

Suggestion?
1. Next race, bring the cat.
2. Remove cat from inside of your helmet.
3. Tape the cat on top of your helmet.
3. During the race have the cat lick the camera lens clean:p .

Result?
1. You will not scare the shit out me everytime you take your hands off the wheel
2. You may actually drive better

Unfortunately, that's how I lost his brother.

...I forgot the tape.
