Race Gear Stores
Does anyone know of any good stores that sell racing shoes? My internet searches have all returned online stores, and I don't feel comfortable buying shoes without first trying them on.
I live in Stamford, CT, so anything within 1 or two hours of there would be great!
Alternatively I'm going to the VIR race weekend, so if there is a store near VIR then that would work too.
Thanks!

There is a shop at the track. You might call first - I think the info is on the VIR web site.
Alternatively, the people at Speedware Motorsaports are very knowledgeable and can most likely get you in a shoe that fits properly, if you are sure of your American shoe size.

Re: Race Gear Stores
I would call Speedware or Wine Country and ask them to ship you multiple sizes of all the shoes you are interested in, and then just send back what you don't want.

They'll do that for you?
I assume that you'd have to actually buy them all first, then get a refund on the ones you send back?

Yup, but it still is the best way to go.

Yes, that is the procedure, but there is no restocking charge. Speedware Motorsports (ask for Adam) sent me two pairs so that I could get the right size, and they also did that for gloves (three sizes of those).

Re: Race Gear Stores
After researching the above options, I am going to stop off at CDOC's main warehouse on the way down to VIR. It only a little bit out of the way. Hopefully they'll have shoes in my size.
Thanks again for the suggestions.
(Hey - 100th post, so apparently I'm a entry speed demon - should bode well for VIR! )
