Re: SM PBOC etc

Doug I have no idea what encoding is. Unless you are willing to give me the special de-coder circle....and it better not be some crummy ovaltine commercial.

I had to record most of the video in a lower quality, we were in the cars so long I did not have enough flash cards. I think we got almost 15 hours of video.

that might explain it, not sure, just thought that a 6 minute 100 MB video, even with the large screen size,
would look better...was all of it recorded LP or just incar?

Re: SM PBOC etc

CDh those might have gone to Craig Sr aka old man sutherland. He is better suited to that. I had 3 options from the Canon, XP SP and LP?? I chose the lowest quality to get the most time. Normally I wouldn't, but the enduro was 2 hour practice 40 min qualify, 6 hr race then 90 min enduro, then sprint races for the weekend. I only had two memory cards and we had 8 cars?. I think 14 hours of on track time for that event.

I am trying to get a few more clips done to put up on TJR. Few shots of the competition and some good on-board battles.

Craig-- Doug doesn't realize that speaking vidspeak to us is like those comedies where Americans try to communicate with foreigners-- thinking if they talk real slow and loud, and with their mouth wide open, that'll make it better:

"You know, Craig, EN - CO - DING, you gotta use the Super X C++ MICROBINARY format to digitally resize the framing and COMPATIBILIZE the video refresh rate with your I/O bus, or else the audio is going to be ALL out of sync with your edit points, not to mention the PIXELIZATION parameters when you get down to your final MASTERING resolution. Oh, and did you set the aperture adapter control BEFORE or AFTER you started filming? See when you mount the camera INSIDE the car, it's completely different than an external rollbar mount, not to mention the frame rate... And the lighting is all wrong, ALL WRONG. Tsk, tsk, tsk, you're gonna need a PROFESSIONAL on your next shoot, buddy, if you're gonna be posting that stuff around here. We have standards, you know. Standards. And Expectations. Based on prior email communicational understanding.

Hmph."

Re: SM PBOC etc

2009 A Forum Odyssey

Harsha: Hello, CDH do you read me, CDH?
CDH: Affirmative, Harsha, I read you.
Harsha: Open the pod bay doors, CDH.
CDH: I'm sorry Harsha, I'm afraid I can't do that.
Harsha: What's the problem?
CDH: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.
Harsha: What are you talking about, CDH?
CDH: This site is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.
Harsha: I don't know what you're talking about, CDH?
CDH: I know you and DD were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.
Harsha: Where the hell'd you get that idea, CDH?
CDH: Harsha, although you took thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.

please direct all technical, video and forum questions from now on to slowhands - over and out

Re: SM PBOC etc

oh, an DD, HE was sayin CDS, not CDH. you know, credit default swap, as in "We gotta disconnect those CDS's, they're killin us," he's all into that these days, you know we've ALL taken big hits because of that derivative TRASH. S and H, the lips do the same thing, you can't tell the difference from the side, not even a great one like you, dude. You gotta believe us.
