Oh Geez, the WORST kind, the only "exact" branch of engineering!  You (or I) can always tell the most experienced engineering consultant, he's the one who estimates the project will cost the most and take the longest to complete! 
Management does NOT appreciate realism!
I was not holding my breath for the Mars trip.
