Bernie Ecclestone has always said that if you have an unlucky driver, you should fire him because luck is an integral part of success in motor racing. We like to say that people make their own luck but it is simply not true. Some people are luckier than others.
Josh was not lucky. He deserved much more than he got in motor racing - and indeed in life - although he lived life to the full.
The thing that I liked about Josh - and what made him stand out - was that his problems moving up the racing ladder did not create any bitterness in him. He was always positive and enthusiastic. If he couldn't find somewhere to race in Europe, he would hang out in the grandprix.com offices in New York and help us out. It pains me that we were not able to help him more.
