Re: The Team Juicy 100

Duo, the Baja for desert....?

I have always had a thing for the Unlimited Hydros, especially in the days when their nickname, Thunderboats, was a reflection of the spine-tingling sound of their huge Allison, RR Merlins, and Packard V-12's.

Nowadays it's mostly helicopter turbines, so the Thunder was left behind many years ago but the thrill is still there. Used to be as deadly as open wheel racing in the 50's - 70's (if not more so), Unlimiteds have gotten much safer with cockpit capsules and f-16 canopies, still a very high risk sport tho.

I gotta believe the adrenaline factor doesn't get a whole lot higher than running near 200 MPH on the water....
(OK, I'm a car enthusiast so this counts )
